Mindfulness-based cognitive therapies adapted for sexual function concerns improve sexual function, reduce sexual distress, and lessen depression symptoms in women. A meta-analysis of 11 studies found a moderate improvement in sexual function (standardized mean difference 0.461) with high heterogeneity among studies. The therapies also reduced sexual distress (standardized mean difference -0.352) and depression symptoms (standardized mean difference -0.217). The findings suggest these therapies are effective for addressing sexual dysfunction and related psychological distress in women.
