El presente artículo aborda la disposición poética y barroca presente en el rito de la ayahuasca, en el que el poeta argentino Néstor Perlongher participó. Desde su perspectiva existen diversas tensiones experimentadas en el ritual chamánico, las que se organizan en tres parejas contradictorias: fuerza y forma, apolíneo y dionisíaco, cuerpo y expresión. Estas tensiones llevan al sujeto y /o poeta al desasimiento de los místicos, a una “poética del éxtasis” y por último a una aniquilación del yo.
