The stream of consciousness technique in Egyptian Arabic novels of the early twenty-first century was not a natural evolutionary stage of creative writing but a product of long intellectual development and growing awareness of human psychology. It was not invented in the third millennium but was repurposed to match humanity's perpetual search for self-identity amid life's chaos. Novels adopted new themes, their artistic structure transformed, time became fragmented, the concept of personality shifted, and disorder and disintegration dominated as characters embarked on journeys of self-discovery.
