Shifting Paradigms: Exploring Multicultural Approaches to Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy in Counseling

Psychedelic-assisted therapy must incorporate diverse and multicultural perspectives to be effective, accessible, and ethically sound. This article argues that considering individuals' cultural backgrounds, belief systems, and systemic barriers is critical. It examines the movement through a historical sociopolitical lens and reviews how integrating social justice and advocacy into treatment can enhance its foundations within the counseling profession.
