Kesurupan dalam Perspektif Psikologi dan Teologi Kristen: Pendekatan Multidisipliner terhadap Pemahaman Penanganan Fenomena Kesurupan

Trance is a complex phenomenon involving spiritual, psychological, and cultural aspects. A qualitative phenomenological study with 10 participants—individuals who experienced possession, their families, priests/clergy, and psychologists—found that spiritual interventions like deliverance prayers provide spiritual relief, while psychological approaches help individuals understand and manage the experience from a mental perspective. The Christian theological perspective holds that possession can occur due to spiritual influences requiring a holistic approach to recovery. Combining spiritual and psychological interventions offers optimal results, highlighting the need for collaboration between religious leaders and mental health practitioners and for public education to reduce stigma.
