Prana Vidya, an ancient yogic science from Vedic and Ayurvedic traditions, focuses on cultivating and regulating Prana, the vital life force, through techniques like Pranayama, meditation, and mantra-based therapies. A scoping review of classical texts and modern studies shows these practices enhance autonomic regulation, respiratory efficiency, stress reduction, and emotional stability. Physiological benefits include increased vagal tone, improved heart rate variability, lowered cortisol, and better immune responses. Psychological benefits include reduced anxiety and improved quality of life. Structured systems like Yoga Prana Vidya show therapeutic potential for chronic pain, hypertension, depression, and psychosomatic conditions. However, evidence is limited by small samples and heterogeneous methods, requiring further rigorous trials.
