Social Anxiety Disorder involves intense fear of rejection and social avoidance. While standard treatments exist, many patients do not improve or relapse over 10-12 years. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a third-wave cognitive behavioral therapy, shows early promise comparable to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the first-line treatment. Combining ACT with Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy may offer an alternative by targeting emotional and behavioral patterns through a biopsychosocial lens. This paper explores the theoretical rationale, practical implementation, and potential obstacles of this novel approach.
