Compassion, understood as a universal force, is examined through neuroscience, the chakra system as described by clairvoyants, and the nursing theories of Watson, Newman, and Smith. Research over the past two decades indicates that compassion fosters self-development, transformation, and healing. Therapeutic Touch, a holistic therapy based on the human energy field, serves as a practice exemplar of compassion in action.
