A New Theory of Consciousness: The Four Constituent Parts of Consciousness
Journal of Psychiatric Insight Review July 1, 2025 Frank Asamoah Frimpong
Consciousness is proposed to consist of two major types: Cosmic Consciousness and brain consciousness. Cosmic Consciousness is described as the original form that emerged on earth, giving rise to all living organisms—plants, animals, and humans—and endowing them with sensitivity, sentience, and intelligence. Brain consciousness is further divided into human and animal consciousness. The argument suggests that plants and trees, lacking brains, possess Cosmic Consciousness, evidenced by their abilities to exhibit sensitivity, sentience, and intelligent behaviors such as survival and reproduction. The text critiques neuroscientists, physicists, and philosophers for overlooking Cosmic Consciousness in their definitions and inquiries.
