QUANTUM MYSTICISM AND SUFI CONSCIOUSNESS: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PHILOSOPHICAL INQUIRY INTO HAQIQAH AND MA'RIFAH

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) July 17, 2026 Iin Inayatul Ummah, Suadi Sa'ad, Ade Fakih Kurniawan

The philosophical relationship between the Sufi concepts of haqiqah (spiritual truth) and gnosis (direct intuitive knowledge) and the basic principles of quantum theory is analyzed through a qualitative library research approach. Haqiqah is understood as a potential dimension of spiritual awareness, while gnosis is the actualization of spiritual experience as direct, intuitive, and transformative. These concepts resonate philosophically with quantum principles such as superposition, uncertainty, entanglement, the observer effect, and wavefunction collapse. Superposition is analogous to the human inner state before achieving gnosis; uncertainty reflects the unpredictability of the spiritual journey; entanglement shares conceptual similarities with monotheism. The relationship is heuristic and philosophical, not empirical, serving as a conceptual bridge between spirituality and modern science without ontological equivalence.
