Nondual Panpsychism: From the Extended Mind to Universal Consciousness and Śiva

A new metaphysical framework called Nondual Panpsychism is proposed, which engages with Indian philosophy and claims that reality is neither plural, dual, nor One. It argues that everything is a cognitive system, not that everything is conscious. Cognition is defined as an entity's choice of action among perceived alternatives, implying all entities have agency. The article argues against phenomenal consciousness and the hard problem, refiguring consciousness as cognitive. It hyperextends the extended mind to include social groups and the universe as cognitive systems, addressing combination and decombination problems. The framework is shown to be compatible with Kaśmir Śaivism's pratyabhijñā system and contrasted with Advaita Vedānta.
