Adding meditation and yoga to standard care for interstitial cystitis-bladder pain syndrome improves treatment response and reduces the need for additional interventions. In a randomized trial, 72% of women who received meditation and yoga plus standard care reported moderate or marked improvement after 12 weeks, compared with 26% receiving standard care alone. The mind-body group also showed greater reductions in symptom and pain scores and required fewer treatment escalations (4% vs 33%). These findings suggest that incorporating mind-body practices into routine care can enhance outcomes for this condition.
