The Effect of Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY) Practices on Stress and Serum Cortisol Levels Among Medical Students.

Journal of pharmacy & bioallied sciences June 1, 2025 Panneerselvam Periasamy, Vajiravelu Suganthi, M Ganesh Kamath et al.

A 24-week Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY) program reduced perceived stress and serum cortisol in medical students. In a quasi-experimental study, 120 first-year students were randomly assigned to SKY or a no-intervention control. The SKY group's Perceived Stress Scale scores dropped from 24.47 to 14.05, while the control group showed no significant change. Serum cortisol in the SKY group decreased from 19.90 μg/dL to 17.66 μg/dL; the control group had no significant change. SKY appears effective for stress management in medical education.
